Only last week, Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter account was permanently suspended for an insensitive comment made on West Bengal violence. The actor called out to the Prime Minister asking for a retaliation for the violence by bringing back his ‘virat roop from early 2000s.’ Kangana continued to write about the violence on her Instagram and even had an FIR launched against her for her words against CM Mamta Banerjee.
Two days ago, the actor tested positive for COVID-19 and announced the same with a post on Instagram. Ranaut captioned the picture, “I have quarantined myself, I had no idea this virus is having a party in my body, now that I know I will demolish it, people please don’t give anything any power over you, if you are scared it will scare you more, come let’s destroy this Covid -19 it is nothing but a small time flu which got too much press and now psyching few people. Har Har Mahadev.”
Soon after, her remark calling COVID-19 a small time flu got her backlash as people emphasised that almost 3 lac people have lost their lives and her caption was highly insensitive. Following this, Instagram took down her post on the grounds of misinformation and Kangana shared her thoughts on the same with a story.
She wrote, “Instagram has deleted my post where I threatened to demolish Covid because some were hurt. Matlab terrorists and communists sympathisers suna tha twitter pe lekin (I had heard of terrorist and communist sympathisers on Twitter but) Covid fan club awesome… It’s been two days here on insta but don’t think will last here more than a week.”
