The Brazil Ceramic Tiles Experience (BCTE), the leading Brazilian Ceramic Tiles Distributors Forum, had an expo and business networking event at Sun City in South Africa from 18 to 21 July.
The three-day event brought together participants from around Africa to network and showcased top Brazilian tile manufacturers’ products.
As part of the programme, Marlene van Rooyen, editor in chief and chief executive officer of the Media in Africa Group, delivered two keynotes, “What architects really want from manufacturers” and “How to grow your market share in a recession”.

All the participants had wonderfully produced stands and with formalised, scheduled business meetings, very successful face-to-face negotiations could be held.
The Brazilian ceramic tile industry
Brazil ranks 3rd in production in the world of ceramic tiles, 2nd in consumption and 7th in exports. In 2021, a total of 1,04 billion m² were produced out of an installed capacity of 1,171 million m². The total sales reached 1,03 billion m², with 901,9 million m² sold in the domestic market and 130,3 million m² exported.
Anfacer, the Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of Tiles, Sanitary Ware and Related Products, was established in 1984 to represent the production chain of the Brazilian ceramic industry throughout the country and the world. It has made impressive advances in fostering the Brazilian ceramic industry, promoting competitiveness and expanding markets.
The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) promotes Brazilian products and services abroad and attracts foreign investments to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy. ApexBrasil promotes exports and carries out diversified trade promotion actions abroad to strengthen the Brazil brand.
