KARIBA city will maintain by-elections tomorrow to fill three vacant native authorities seats following final month’s recall of councillors linked to Nelson Chamisa’s former MDC Alliance social gathering.
The Douglas Mwonzora-led MDC Alliance recalled former Kariba mayor George Masendu (ward 4); Farai Magevha (ward 3) and Pedzisai Munhuweyi (ward 8).
The trio is in search of re-election below the Residents Coalition for Change steady.
Zanu PF will likely be represented by Albert Chakwana in ward 3; Joshua Mukwesha (ward 4) and Samuel Machirimba (ward 8).
Zimbabwe Electoral Fee provincial elections officer Austin Ndlovu yesterday instructed NewsDay that every little thing was on target for the weekend by-elections.
“Mashonaland West province is prepared for the Might 7 Kariba by-elections in wards 3, 4 and eight. All of the required personnel to conduct the by-elections have since been recruited, educated and deployed to their respective polling stations,” Ndlovu mentioned.
“Rehearsals are at the moment underway and the election supplies and tools are enough. You will need to level out that the voters roll, together with the one for show outdoors the polling stations and the poll papers for the three wards are already in place. The fee is totally ready and is raring to go,” Ndlovu
