Work and Income office in Marton.
The Marton Work and Income Service Centre is being temporarily shut between Feb. 28 and March 23 for upgrade works.
The changes will focus on providing a more welcoming office for clients, a better working space for staff, and upgraded security.
Taranaki King Country Whanganui MSD Regional Commissioner Gloria Campbell says the upgrades have already been rolled out in other parts of the country.
“This work has been planned for some time and it’s great to see the investment in the region.
“We know this may be a difficult time for some people with COVID-19 spreading in the community. We are working closely with community organisations, health, iwi/Māori and other agencies to ensure people are supported wherever they live.”
While the centre is closed, all services continue with options such as 0800 numbers and MyMSD providing flexibility, she says. Those interested can also visit the Work and Income website.
