According to police, the vehicle was overcrowded, having crammed around a dozen passengers on eight seats, and was travelling on an uneven road.
The survivors were taken to the community health centre in
Palia
town. Two of them are critical. Kheri district magistrate

Singh met the survivors at the district hospital and directed the chief medical officer (CMO) to ensure the best possible treatment for them.
